Job Summary

The primary role of a Projector Technician is to assemble and repair company created projectors (dart guns) as per Standard Work Practices and to participate in the process of continuous improvement programs.

The Projector Technician is responsible for:

  • Diagnosing, repairing, modifying, and building various types of projectors for the animal and livestock industry
  • Safely test-firing production units
  • Operating a lathe, mill and other machines to complete job tasks as needed
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed on customer equipment
  • Repairing damaged components and correcting malfunctions
  • Bluing barrels and various components
  • Following compliance regulations, including but not limited to ATF, Department of State, and the Bureau of Industry and Security.


  • Learn products, manufacturing processes, service policies, and the research/science behind Pneu-Dart products. Specifically, learning RDD and RDD Projector design and assembly will be of primary importance
  • Learn to assemble and repair all Pneu-Dart model projectors
  • Learn projector related functions of Pneu-Dart’s operating system

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated success and knowledge in the following areas:

  • General machining skills
  • Possesses physical dexterity necessary to assemble small parts
  • Demonstrates analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail, necessary to troubleshoot production and assembly issues
  • Can identify problems or malfunctions with equipment
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and verba

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma – GED

Mental & Physical Requirements
In order to carry out the responsibilities of this position, the following mental and physical requirements are necessary:

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to follow SWP processes and procedures
  • Physical activity including:
    • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • 9 Hour workdays will occasionally be required, based on business needs

Compensation & Benefit Considerations

Base Pay and Benefits

  • Wage compensation, commensurate with experience, will be provided
  • All benefits of full-time employment including medical, dental and vision insurance for the employee and dependents is available. Benefits are provided in compliance with the company’s Summary Plan Description. Contribution rates for team members and dependents are determined annually. The benefit waiting period is 60-days.
  • Participation in PDI’s 401(k) retirement plan with up to a 4% match of the team member’s gross income. The benefit waiting period is 12 months.
  • PTO accrual of 128 hours per year, with accelerated accruals at various levels of tenure
  • 9 Paid Holidays per year, in addition to a paid holiday to celebrate your Birthday after 1 Year

Variable Compensation

  • Participation in the company’s Associate Incentive Plan (AIP), which rewards members of the company for meeting or exceeding quality shipping targets as a prorated portion of base compensation. The compensation waiting period is fifteen months.
